Aamir Khan, who is busy promoting his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, has spoken about Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in the film. During an interaction with an international publication, Mr Khan said that he was looking for “the biggest iconic star in India” and approached SRK. Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi remake of Robert Zemeckis’ 1994 classic Forrest Gump, which featured Tom Hanks in the titular role. The film has collaboratively been produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
In a clip going viral from the interview, Aamir Khan is heard saying, “Shah Rukh is a friend, and I told him that I needed someone who could represent what Elvis represented in America and is the biggest iconic star in India, which is why I’m coming to you.”

In Laal Singh Chaddha, Kareena Kapoor will play Rupa. The actress recently mentioned that she had to go for a look test for the first time in her career for this film. “It was not ego it was just I’d never done it before, so I was nervous. And when I told Saif, he said I think it’s really cool. You should do it. And I said ya actually what the hell! What will happen? He’ll say it didn’t work. So, it’s fine. I said it’s Aamir. And if I’d do it. It’ll be for Aamir. So, I said listen whatever it is, I am going to take the plunge and have fun with it,” she said.
